Marialena Tsarouchi
Marialena Tsarouchi is a dedicated Medical Physicist, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece. Specializing in advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques for breast cancer diagnosis she delved deeper pursuing an inter-departmental Master’s degree in Medical Physics. Following her graduation, she undertook a Ph.D. focused on the assessment of quantitative imaging phenotypes of breast MRI for cancer diagnosis. Notably, during her Ph.D., she secured a project fellowship for young researchers co-funded by the European Social Funds (ESF), leading a project entitled: “Multiparametric Imaging Models of Breast Cancer Prognosis in MRI”. In June 2022, she joined the Breast Imaging Group (BIG) as a post-doctoral researcher, contributing to the VIDI project on the clinical evaluation of Contrast Enhanced Breast Computed Tomography (CEBCT), while concurrently participating in the SAFE-MRI project. Her primary research focus lies in optimizing image acquisition protocols and quantitatively assessing image quality, with overarching goal to leverage expertise in CT and MRI to contribute meaningfully to ongoing advancements in breast cancer imaging.
